Police organises anti-drug awareness programme at Uttar Bahani

SAMBA, Apr 10: Police today organised grand anti-drug awareness programme at Uttar Bahani under CAP where hundreds of students of Government and private schools, parents, teachers, prominent citizens and police officers witnessed the speech delivering competition.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary, DySP DAR, Samba, Ajay Anand, SDPO, Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, SHO Purmandal, Vijay Verma and Chouki Officer, Uttar Bahani, Vivek Singh presented certificates and cash rewards of rupees 12000.00, 7500.00 and 5000.00 to the first, second and third best student speakers respectively, whereas five other student speakers were also felicitated with certificates and cash rewards of Rs 2000.00 each.
Hundreds of students of Government Higher Secondary School, Uttar Bahani, Sunlight High School, Uttar Bahani and other nearby schools participated in today’s anti-drug awareness programme. DDC member, Avtar Singh, in charge Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Uttar Bahani, Dr. PinkyBala and Principal, Sunlight High School, Rajinder Pangotra thanked the police for organizing grand anti-drug awareness programmes at Uttar Bahani to generate awareness among students and public against drug abuse.
Additional SP, Samba also spoke on the occasion and asked youth to stay away from narcotic substances.
On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that police is going to organize series of youth-oriented activities in Samba district so as to motivate them to become warriors to augment police in war against narcotic substances rather than falling prey to drug addiction. He informed that police has decided to organize at least five benevolent functions including sports activities, symposiums/ seminars/debates under CAP in the areas of Purmandal and Uttar Bahani itself and dozens of other anti-drug awareness programmes at different schools and public places across the district so that menace of drug abuse is completely eradicate from Samba soil.
SSP Samba reiterated that since narco-terrorism is not less a deadly malaise than terrorism, Samba police is committed to go to any extent to take legal action against all notorious smugglers/ suppliers of heroin (‘Chitta’) operative in the district whose illegal narco-business and accumulation of illegal wealth will not be allowed to thrive henceforth.
