Srinagar, Apr 20: Amid the incessant rainfall across Kashmir, the J&K Police today stepped forward to assist residents in Kulgam affected by rising floodwater.
Authorities stated that during the intervening night of April 19 and 20, 2025, the police post at Jawahar Tunnel received a distress call from residents of Gulbagh.
The callers reported that floodwater had entered residential houses due to the clogging of a nearby stream.
“Promptly, a Police team of Police post Jawahar Tunnel under the supervision of SSP Kulgam was constituted who swiftly reached the spot,” police said.
With strenuous efforts and by using all available means, authorities said that the water was diverted into the main stream, which not only retarded flood water from entering into the said village but safeguarded the property and lives of the said area.
