Police helpline launched for Shopian students

SRINAGAR, Apr 21: Police today said it have launched a helpline for the students of Shopian district who are presently studying outside State or in any foreign country.
A police spokesman said 316 students of Shopian district are presently studying outside the state. “A message on WhatsApp and through SMS has been circulated to them by Superintendent of Police Shailendra Mishra assuring them of any intervention they might require,” he said.
“In case any student has been missed out, classmates/room-mates can contact Jammu and Kashmir Police, District Shopian PCR on 9596768831, WhatsApp number 9596768822 or Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Shopian-Police,” the spokesman said.
Since students are studying outside the State and away from family, in any exigency wherein intervention of the local police of their area is required they can contact on above given numbers or Facebook, he said, adding that the services are available 24×7×365 days.
