Police foils bovine smuggling bids, rescues 39 animals

RAJOURI, July 20: Police has successfully foiled multiple attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued a total of 39 animals in separate incidents under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kandi. The operation was carried out following specific inputs and routine patrolling by police teams who intercepted the smugglers at various locations.
According to officials, four separate cases have been registered in this regard. In FIR Number 83/2025, ten bovine animals were rescued at Badhal Naka, while another ten were rescued at Krag Road Badhal under FIR Number 84/2025. FIR Number 85/2025 pertains to the rescue of ten more animals from the Badhal area, and in FIR Number 86/2025, nine bovine animals were rescued from Badhal Pulli.
During the operations, four accused involved in the smuggling were arrested. They have been identified as Shah Mohd, son of Ahmed Din; Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Abdul Aziz; Mohd Hussain, son of Bajir Mohd; and Manzoor Hussain, son of Mohd Shafi – all residents of Keri Khawas.
All rescued animals were rescued safely and further investigation into the cases is currently underway.
