SAMBA, Dec 17: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba police has foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba and rescued five bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
The vehicle used in the illegal transportation of bovines was also seized.
Acting on information received from reliable sources, a police party of Police Post (PP) Goran of PS Samba intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing Registration Number JK17-7590 near village Budhwana for its checking. During checking, five bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the bovines have been rescued and the vehicle has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 303/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
