Police foils bovine smuggling bid, arrests 2, rescues 24 animals

SAMBA, Nov 26: Police foiled bovine smuggling attempt, arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued 24 bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Police said a team of Police Post (PP) Rajpura foiled bovine smuggling attempt near Madoon, arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued 24 bovines which were being smuggled by foot from Kathua side towards Samba via border road.
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Pawan Singh, son of Teju Ram of Divka district Samba and Aslam son of Khalil Ahmed of Palah Morh district Samba, police said. The team was headed by Incharge PP Rajpura under SHO PS Ghagwal.
A case FIR No. 164/2024 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station (PS) Ghagwal and investigation started.
