Police distributes 50 crash helmets

BHADERWAH, June 17: To develop a sense of responsibility among commuters especially students while driving two-wheelers, Bhaderwah Police distributed 50 crash helmets to bikers most of them college students under its Civic Action Programme (CAP).
The distribution function which was organized at Community Hall, Kotli was inaugurated by SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir Khatana in presence of Additional SP Bhaderwah Shaazad Salaria, SDPO Bhaderwah Brijesh Sharma, SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Jatinder Sambyal and Principal GDC Bhaderwah Prof Javed Iqbal.
While speaking on the occasion, SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir Khatana said that this is a symbolic gesture to motivate young generation especially students to wear helmets for safe driving, as we want them to act as ambassadors and role models in the society to follow traffic rules for the safety of commuters and pedestrians simultaneously.
SSP emphasized on the importance of crash helmets, driving license, insurance papers and also warned against triple riding.
He appealed to the students as well as general public to co-operate with police to check the traffic violation.
Police along with student bikers also took out an awareness rally to motivate bikers to use safety gears while driving. SI Purab Singh and SI Zaheer Iqbal led the awareness rally which commenced from community hall and after passing through New Bus Stand, Chobia Link Road, Seri Bazaar, Takiya Chowk, Pasri Bus Stand, College Road culminated back to Community Hall.
