UDHAMPUR, Nov 22: Police cracked a snatching case and arrested the accused, who had snatched a cash of Rs 50 thousand from the victim on last Wednesday.
On 19.11.2025, Police Station Ramnagar received a written complaint from Kartar Chand of Prey, Ramnagar stating that, he had withdrawn Rs 50,000 from his bank account and after he stepped out of the bank premises, an unknown person snatched his handbag containing the said cash and fled from the spot.
Taking cognizance of the matter, a case FIR No. 172/2025 U/S 304 BNS was registered at PS Ramnagar, and investigation was set into motion.
A special police team led by the SHO PS Ramnagar was constituted to trace out the accused person. During the investigation, with the help of CCTV footage, human intelligence and technical assistance, the accused was identified as Vijay Singh alias Pickel , son of Joginder Singh, resident of Sewna Rang, Tehsil Ramnagar.
After sustained and meticulous efforts, the police team arrested the accused. Out of the stolen Rs 50,000, an amount of Rs 47,450 has been recovered from his possession. Further investigation in the case is in progress.
