JAMMU, May 19: Police in Jammu South Zone have solved a two-wheeler theft case within days, arresting one individual and recovering from his possession both a stolen motorcycle and a scooty.
A police official said that on the complaint of one Bhushan Sharma of Bishnah, who alleged theft of his son’s motorcycle parked at Bahu Plaza Parking, Police Station Bahu Fort registered a case on May 5.
Post registration of the FIR, he said, a team led by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia, under the supervision of SDPO City East Sheezan Bhat and guidance of SP Jammu South Ajay Sharma launched an investigation using both technical surveillance and local inputs.
He said the investigation team arrested one Sahil Yaseen of Bhugam in District Kulgam, who during sustained questioning confessed to have committed the theft.
The police official further said that on the disclosure of the accused, the stolen bike and an additional scooty was recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, further investigation is underway, added the police official.
