Police crack theft case in Narwal; scrap dealer among 2 held

JAMMU, June 7: Jammu and Kashmir Police have solved a theft case within hours of its reporting in the Narwal area, arresting two accused including a scrap dealer and recovering the stolen property.
As per a police official, the case came to light after Tilak Singh, a resident of Channi Rama, lodged a complaint at Police Post Narwal stating that two batteries were stolen from his parked truck.

Acting on the complaint, the police official said, Police Station Bahu Fort registered a case FIR number 176/2025 under Section 303(2) of the BNS.
Accordingly, he said, a police team led by PSI Susheel Kumar, Incharge Police Post Narwal, swiftly launched an investigation and detained a suspect, identified as Rashpal Singh of Mongri village in Udhampur district, for questioning.
He said during sustained questioning, the accused confessed to his involvement in the crime.
The police official said further investigation led to the arrest of one Kuldeep Saini of Yard Number 6, Narwal, who had allegedly purchased the stolen batteries.
He said the stolen items were recovered from his possession.
The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort, Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia, and SDPO City East, Sheezan Bhat, with overall guidance from SP City South, Ajay Sharma, and SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh.
