SRINAGAR, Feb 6: Police in Ganderbal today booked a company for allegedly overcharging tourist vehicles in the name of sanitation fee at the SDA Toll Post in the Shudkadi area of Sonamarg.
In this connection, a case has been registered against the owner of M/s Sheer-i-Kashmir Construction Pvt. Ltd, with FIR No. 02/2026 under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) lodged at Police Station Sonamarg.
Police said that further investigation is underway to ascertain the full extent of the alleged illegal collection.
As per police, the action was taken following complaints of unauthorized fee collection from tourists and transport operators.
“Such unlawful practices will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” police said.
