Police attaches property of drug-peddler

UDHAMPUR, June 26: The police while celebrating International Day Against Drug Abuse today attached the property worth Rs 50 lakhs of a drug peddler in Udhampur area.
A police official said that the the attached property belongs to notorious drug peddler, Sanjay Kumar alias Sanju Bawa
He said in a continued crackdown on drug peddlers, Udhampur Police has attached moveable and immovable property worth Rs 50 lakhs of Sanjay Kumar alias Sanju Bawa, son of Narinder Kumar, a resident of Upper Hartiyan, District Udhampur, at present Ward No. 21 Kaller, Udhampur.
The property has been attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985 in connection with Case FIR No. 167/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Udhampur.
The property was identified as illegally acquired during the course of an investigation carried out by DySP Hqrs Prehlad Sharma and SHO Udhampur Insp Raghubir Singh.
The attached properties include- a residential house situated on land bearing Khasra No. 1074/166 at Kaller and motorcycle bearing Registration No. JK14J 6615.
The order of attachment was passed today by the IO, for further legal proceedings.
It is pertinent to mention that the said individual is already involved in a previous narcotics case, FIR No. 292/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Rehambal.
