KATHUA/POONCH, Jan 2: In a decisive legal action against terrorism, anti-national elements and criminals operating from across the border, J&K Police have attached immovable property belonging to a Pakistan-based terror handler belonging to Poonch district and seven criminals from Lohai Malhar area of Kathua district who have crossed over to Pakistan illegally and are presently residing there. Their properties were attached in compliance with the directions of the courts.

In case of Pakistani based terror handler belonging to Poonch the attachment has been effected in connection with FIR No. 07/2002 registered at Police Station Mandi under Sections 2/3 of the E&I MCO Act. The attached property comprises six Kanals 13.5 Marlas of land, falling under Khasra Nos. 291, 292, 287, 271, 222, 222/1, 221, 186, 180 and 97 (min), situated in Tehsil Mandi, of District Poonch, valuing nearly Rs 13.36 lakh.
In case of seven criminals of Lohai Malhar tehsil of Kathua district 10 Kanals and 15 Marlas of land was attached against whom FIRs under various sections of law were registered in Police Station (PS) of Lohai Malhar who were illegally residing in Pakistan and did not return even after proclamation was issued by police against them.

The attached property belongs to Jamal Lone alias Jamala, son of Sultan Lone alias Sultana, resident of Chamber Kanari, tehsil Mandi, of Poonch district who is presently operating as a Pakistan-based terror handler. The accused had earlier ex-filtrated to PoJK and has since been actively involved in activities inimical to the security and sovereignty of the nation.
In view of his continued evasion of the legal process, the accused was declared a proclaimed offender by the Court. Despite sustained efforts by Poonch Police to secure his arrest, he remained beyond the reach of law, compelling the Court to order attachment of his immovable property. Acting upon these directions, the attachment was executed by Poonch Police in close coordination with the Revenue Department, after following all due legal procedures, verification, and documentation.
Police spokesman said following the order of Special Court Jammu, Kathua police executed attachment warrants against seven people of Tehsil Lohai Malhar, district Kathua currently residing in Pakistan who were involved in case FIR No. 21/2024 U/S 61(1),147 BNSS,13/16/18/38/39 UA (P) Act & 2/3 EIMCO Act of Police Station Malhar.
He said a proclamation was issued against these seven persons who are presently residing in Pakistan and were involved in various criminal cases.
Spokesman said among them one Kanal of land belonging to Mohd Ayaz alias Adeel Ansari son of Gh. Hussain, 12 Marlas of land belonging to Abdul Kareem alias Bitta son of Abdul Sattar of Malhar Kathua, One Kanal and 10 Marlas of land belonging to Sarfraz Nawaz alias Nawaz Ahmad, son of Mohd Saleem, One Kanal and five Marlas land belonging Mohd Farooq alias Farooq Ahmed, son of Ab Rehman, two Kanals of land belonging to Mohd Hafeez, son of Mohd Bhatt and 15 marlas of land belonging to Gul Mohd, son of Mohd Ramzan Khan all residents of Lohai Malhar Kathua and three Kanals and 13 Marlas of land belonging to Akhter Ali alias Niku, son of Mohd Saleem of Badnota Mora, Arodha tehsil Lohai Malhar, Kathua was attached by police on the orders of Special Court Jammu.
He said the accused remained absconding even after proclamation so Kathua police with the assistance of Revenue Department and after fulfilling the legal formalities the immovable properties of the JKNOPs were identified and attached under Section 84/85 BNSS.
