KATHUA, May 31: Police have attached immovable property worth Rs 20.56 lakhs of an alleged drug peddler namely Imran Ali of Malhar, presently putting up at Dadwara in Tehsil Billawar of District Kathua.
The action was taken under sections 68 A.2 (c), & E, read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, dealing with provisions for attachment of properties of drug peddlers/smugglers.
The said drug peddler, Imran Ali, son of Shamash Din, resident of Malhar, A/P Dadwara Tehsil Billawar, is presently in Judicial custody in case FIR No. 144 /2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/29/NDPS Act of Police Station Billawar.
The Immovable property (single storey building) was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation conducted by the police with the help of Revenue Department. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the drug peddler.
The action was taken by Police team, headed by SHO PS Billawar, Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Neeraj Padyar and over all supervision of SSP Kathua Shobit Saksena.
