Police attaches drug peddler’s house

SRINAGAR, Dec 10: Police in Srinagar today attached a residential house belonging to the father of a notorious drug peddler under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Authorities said a three-storeyed residential house along with one kanal of land, valued at approximately Rs 2 crore, was attached under the provisions of the Act.
“The property is in the possession of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, resident of Shaltang, the father of notorious drug peddler Manzoor Ahmad Bhat of Shaltang,” police said.
The accused, as per police, was involved in FIR No. 98/2025 under Sections 8/22 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Parimpora.
During investigation, it was established that the property had been acquired through illegal proceeds of drug trafficking, police said.
Acting on these findings, the competent authority ordered attachment of the property under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
The attachment proceedings were carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses, with full adherence to legal protocols, police added.
As per the attachment order, the owner is prohibited from selling, leasing, modifying, or creating any third-party interest in the property.
