KATHUA, May 4: Kathua Police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Lakhanpur near Golden Gate and recovered 4.70 grams heroin (chitta) from his possession. Police also seized motorbike of drug peddler.
Police said acting on an information received through reliable sources, a police party of Police Station (PS) Lakhanpur under the guidance of DySP DAR, Kathua, Ritesh Samyal and SHO PS Lakhanpur, Inspector, Tribhawan Khajuria, under the close supervision of Additional SP Kathua, Rahul Charak. The contraband was seized under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saksena.
Police said it intercepted the motorbike bearing Registration Number JK08M-1777 driven by Abhi, son of Madan Lal of Chak Drab Khan Kathua who was enrouted from Kathua towards Lakhanpur under suspicious circumstances. During checking, approximately 4.70 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the drug peddler. He was arrested on spot and contraband was seized.
A case FIR No 56/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Lakhanpur and investigation started.
