SAMBA, Oct 1: Samba police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh and recovered 10 grams heroin from his possession.
Police said a team of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh while performing naka duty at Keso Manhashan, intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK02DD-1972 for checking which was coming from Koulpur side towards Ramgarh. During checking, 10 grams approximately heroin was recovered from the possession of the rider.
The drug peddler identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Moju Din of Rakh Barotian, tehsil ,Vijaypur, Samba has been arrested. The contraband item and the vehicle have also been seized, police said.
A case FIR No 74/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
