5 vehicles confiscated for illegal mining

SAMBA, Oct, 13: Samba police has arrested two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Bari Brahmana and recovered 30.70 grams heroin like substance from their possession.
Police said a team of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana, during Naka checking intercepted two persons near Sarore Adda, Bari Brahmana who were moving under suspicious circumstances in an Alto Car bearing Registration Number, JK20A-2866. During frisking, approximately 30.70 grams heroin like substance was recovered from the possession of said persons.
The drug peddlers identified as Mushtaq Hussain, son of Nazir Hussain and Zafar Shah, son of Haider Shah both resident of village Targain tehsil Budhal district Rajouri have been arrested and the contraband item has been seized. The Alto Car has also been seized by the police in the instant case.
A case FIR No 165/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
Meanwhile continuing its drive against illegal mining, Samba police has seized five vehicles including four dumpers in the jurisdiction of Police Stations (PS) Samba, Ghagwal and Ramgarh which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material.
Police said its teams headed by SHO PS Ramgarh, SHO PS Ghagwal, SHO PS Vijaypur and in charges of Police Posts (PP) Supwal and Mansar of PS Samba while performing patrolling duty in their jurisdictional areas, have seized four dumpers bearing Registration Nos. JK21G-5674, JK21H-9222, JK21J-7583,JK02CJ-5591 and a tractor trolley bearing Registration Number, JK08M-9526 which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material in the area.
All the vehicles have been seized by Samba Police and handed over to the Geology & Mining Department, Samba for further legal action.
The seizure was made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
