JAMMU, Aug 11: In a fresh breakthrough in the investigation of an NDPS case, Jammu and Kashmir Police in R S Pura have arrested another accused and recovered from his possession Rs 4.87 lakh in cash along with drug paraphernalia.
A police official said the action is linked to FIR number 169/2025 registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station R S Pura.
He said the development followed the arrest of prime accused Nishan Singh of Old Diwangarh on August 10, from whom 10.55 grams of heroin and an electronic weighing machine were recovered.
During questioning, he revealed that the contraband was sourced from Surinder Pal Singh alias Bhuto of Chandu Chak, the police official said.
Acting swiftly, he said, police, accompanied by the Naib Tehsildar Maralian, intercepted Singh’s vehicle near Village Langriyal.
He said a search led to the seizure of cash, a silver foil, two lighters, and a folded currency note used for heroin inhalation.
“Accordingly, the vehicle and other items were seized after completing legal formalities,” added the police official.
