SRINAGAR, Oct 24: Police today arrested three longtime absconders in south Kashmir’s Anantnag and north Kashmir’s Baramulla districts.
A police statement said two men from Calcutta village, identified as Arif Ahmad Sheikh and Mohammad Shameem Sheikh, had been evading arrest for over a decade in burglary cases dating back to 2013. Another accused, Mohammad Ashraf Wani of Singhpora Pattan, wanted since 2016 in a rioting and attempted murder case, was also apprehended.
Police said the arrests followed “sustained efforts, technical surveillance, and reliable intelligence inputs.”
