NEW DELHI, Sept 1: Lamenting that air power was not used in earlier wars, Chief of Air staff Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha today said Pakistan occupied Kashmir (Pok) was still “a thorn in our flesh”.
The strong comments from the IAF Chief came at a function here, days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the PoK an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir with illegal occupation of India’s territory by Pakistan remaining the major issue to be resolved.
Speaking at industry seminar Mr Raha also hinted at a big push to ‘Make in India’ in the modernisation of IAF.
Talking about the future plans of pilot’s training, the Air Chief said the HAL made basic trainers HTT 40 will soon be inducted into the IAF.
Further, he said the IAF was looking forward to manufacture a fighter aircraft under ‘Make in India’, which will be a big boost to domestic industry. (AGENCIES)
