JAMMU, May 2: All J&K 1947 POJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum held an emergency meeting of its Core Committee members under the chairmanship of Amrik Singh, president of the Forum.
The meeting strongly condemned the carelessness attitude of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for not providing basic amenities in the urban areas in Municipal limits at this critical stage of pandemic which has created an alarming situation as many people are dying daily in the entire country and the same condition is prevailing in the UT of J&K.
The Forum further elaborated that Municipal Corporation is sleeping. Neither the sanitation drive nor the Corona testing measures are being taken.
Members appealed the Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha to take this sensitive issue personally and direct the concerned advisors and Commissioner of JMC to provide all the facilities to the Corona affected areas.
Forum also stressed upon the CAPD Department to get distribution of free ration and other essential commodities to the poor people who are starving because of lockdown. It said only lockdown isn’t the solution to fight the Corona virus but the remedy to meet the starvation is needed and it is the foremost duty of the administration to take care of the public at this critical juncture.
The transport industry and labour community are the most affected and sufferers. Forum urged the Lt Governor and State administration to involve the concern machinery and redressed the peoples’ difficulties.

Harbans Singh, Gursimran Singh, Bhupinder Singh Digiana, Avtar Singh, president GSS Digiana camp, Khazan Singh, Bhajan Singh, Paramjit Singh Shingari, Joginder Vaid, Karan Sharma, Inderjit Verma and others.
