PNBMT organises meet of organizational heads

JAMMU, Dec 8: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) organized a conclave of the organizational heads and other leading individuals at KP Sabha Ambphalla today. Today’s meet was organised to arrive at consensus on important issues bedevilling the community. The meet also sought to frame a charter of demands to be presented before the Lt.Governor on the occasion of Chetna Diwas on 27th December this year.
Noted scholar Padamshree K.N.Pandita was the chief guest on the occasion and the conclave was presided over by the former MLC and Chief Secretary, Vijay Bakaya.
The meeting expressed serious concern over the condition of minority Hindu community in Bangladesh and genocidal attacks against them. Former MLC and senior BJP leader, Ajay Bharti said that the condition of the minority Hindus of Bangladesh is similar to what it was for Kashmiri Pandits in 1990.
Newly elected president, Ravi Jogi of the Jyeshtha Devi Temple of Kashmir said that they would fully support all the initiatives taken by the PNBMT for the passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill.
Community activist and BJP leader H.L.Bhat threw light on the activities of the Trust and said that Chetna Diwas was primarily meant to pay our homage to Pt.Prem Nath Bhat and other martyrs including the members of the security forces who laid down their lives while fighting the anarchist forces in Kashmir.
Virender Rawal general secretary HESK stressed upon the need for expansion of the academic curriculum of the GMCER and said that the institution has emerged as a strong pillar of the community.
Chief guest K.N.Pandita expressed serious concern over the dwindling numbers of the community and appealed to KPs to have more children for sustaining the growth rate.
Former MLC Vijay Bakaya in his presidential address appealed to the community to unite and present a common face and come on one platform. He said that the return and rehabilitation of KPs to Kashmir is a serious issue and we need to develop a consensus over the return module.
SessionJudge(Retd.) B.L.Saraf, BJP leader Chand Ji Bhat, S.N Raina, Brij Lal Bhat, senior KP leader, Moti Lal Malla and Sharda Nandan Bhat also spoke on the occasion.
Chairman of the trust Roshan Lal Pandita presented the vote of thanks.
The meeting was attended by KP leaders from all organizations.
