*People including large number of women and children had started pouring in at Raya Morh in Samba district, the venue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally, right from 8 am though scheduled time of his address was 11.30 am.
*Many people from several areas of Jammu had reached houses of their relatives in Bari Barahamana, Vijaypur, Samba and Bishnah last night itself to attend the rally anticipating transport problems today morning. People from several villages trekked distance of three to four kilometers to reach the rally venue.
*Most of the shops including dhabas on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway remained closed till this afternoon as their staff had deserted shops and houses to join the rally.
*Three BJP candidates-Ashwani Sharma (Bishnah), Chander Prakash Ganga (Vijaypur) and Dr Devinder Manyal (Samba) were present at the dais with Modi along with other senior party leaders.
*Modi was offered Dogra `pagri’ by the BJP leaders, which he wore during the rally and recalled that it was used to be worn by Pandit Prem Nath Dogra. He lauded the people of border villages for braving bullets on the borders but maintaining sanctity of the `pagri’.
*As a large number of enthusiastic people had climbed over trees and roof tops of houses to have better glimpse of the Prime Minister, Modi asked them to be sure that they didn’t fall as otherwise it would become national news for the media.
*Such was enthusiasm among the people that almost all roofs of the houses adjacent to the rally venue were packed with the people.
*Referring to mammoth gathering at the rally venue estimated to be several thousands, Modi said he was heartened by the love and faith being bestowed upon him by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand and he would return it with interest by ensuing development and job opportunities in both the States.
*Crowd continue to chant `Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and `Modi-Modi’ throughout 28 minutes address of the Prime Minister.
*Samba district, where Modi addressed the rally today, will go to polls in fourth phase of elections on December 14.
*”Agar Aapka Saath Milega To Aapko Vikaas Bhi Milega (If I get your support, you will get development),” Modi said in his typical style as the huge crowd endorsed him.”
*Modi also paid glowing tributes to Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and Brigadier Rajinder Singh before starting his speech.
