They said the Rozgar Mela will be simultaneously held at 40 locations across the country. “This month’s Rozgar Mela will have majority appointments in the Railways and Posts Departments followed by the Finance, Home and Health Departments among others,” the officials said.
Union Minister for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Kirren Rijiju will attend the Rozgar Mela at the SMVDU at Kakryal, Katra in Reasi district and distribute job letters among fresh appointees after virtual address by the Prime Minister.
Rijiju will reach here tomorrow morning and will leave for Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji shrine.
Sources said since majority appointments in tomorrow’s Rozgar Mela pertains to the Railways Ministry, Katra has been chosen as the venue for distribution of appointment letters among youths of the Jammu region as first direct train to Kashmir from Katra was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6 this year.
Rijiju will also address the newly appointed youths during the Rozgar Mela.
This will be the 17th Rozgar Mela. Sixteen similar Rozgar Melas have been held earlier.
The concept of Rozgar Mela with a view to empower the youth was started with first Mela held on October 22, 2022 when 75,000 appointment letters were given by the Prime Minister to new appointees virtually.
So far, during 16 Rozgar Melas, over 10 lakh jobs have been given to the youth across the country while 51,000 jobs will be added to the list in tomorrow’s 17th Rozgar Mela, the officials said.
They added that the Rozgar Melas have been made a regular feature by the Central Government with a view to give Government jobs to the youth in different Central Government departments.
