PM Scholarship Scheme failure in State:PDP

SRINAGAR, May 15:  Claiming that the career of thousands of Kashmiri students is at stake in various outside state colleges under Prime Ministers Special Scholarship Scheme, People’s Democratic Party today held a protest demonstration against Government’s failure to make the scholarship scheme effective.
The protest at Press Enclave was led by Senior PDP leader and MLC, Muhammad Ashraf Mir and MLA, Shangus, Peer Mansoor Hussain.
While addressing the protesters, Mir said that the failure of the scholarship scheme is a ‘big insult’ for the Government as the scheme is smoothly functioning in other States.
He said that the students are being continuously harassed in various colleges of outside state due to which many among them have already returned to valley leaving their studies half way.
He said till now as many as 200 students have returned to Valley after they were harassed by the College Administration for failing to submit fee on time.
Meanwhile, Peer Mansoor Hussain claimed that the Government in every aspect has shown its failure in the implementation of Centrally sponsored schemes in the State which were meant for the benefit of poor section of society.
