JAMMU, Oct 16: Rented employees of PM package held a silent protest at Qazigund in South Kashmir district of Kulgam under the banner of “All Rented Employees of PM Package”. The protesting employees demanded the accommodation on priority basis as they were neglected since 2010.
The protestors said that they were facing lot of problems during one decade of service by paying huge rents and are compelled to live in fear. Similarly, security scenario among the employees is the biggest cause of worry as earlier they left the Valley during the night hours because of security reasons. During this COVID-19 pandemic rented employees were neglected by the concerned authorities, they alleged.
They said that some quarters are almost completed at Vassu transit camp but authorities didn’t allot these accommodations to genuine employees. Numerous times they raised their voice against such things but the administration and concerned authorities turned a deaf ear. They have given only one week time administration and Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants Jammu to sort out this issue and give them assurance about the same other wise they will comes on road for justice and for that only administration will be responsible. They made an appeal to LG J&K and Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants Jammu to resolve the issue of rented employees and provide the accommodation at Vassu transit camp to them.
