NEW DELHI, Oct 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held unusually long informal discussions with three Service chiefs at Air House at a reception hosted by Air Chief Arup Raha on the occasion of IAF Day.
Mr Modi was seen talking to Army chief Gen Dalbir Singh, IAF chief Raha and Navy chief Admiral Sunil Lanba with most of the guests, including several diplomats and senior armed forces’ officer, curiously looking at them.
The long informal talks with services chiefs was particularly noticed as it was taking place in the backdrop of the surgical strikes carried out by the Army across the LoC which shook the entire geopolitics of the region to the core.
After having discussions with the chiefs, Modi along with President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice- President Hamid Ansari mingled with the guests. The Prime Minister refused to answer questions from the media persons who wanted to know his reaction about the cross border raid during which several launch pads of terrorists were neutralised. Mr Modi exchanged pleasantries completely ignoring the questions.
When asked how is patient doing after the surgery, Modi side stepped and asked the scribe, “aap kaise hain…(how are you).”The Army chief also remained tight lipped and so did Director General of Military Operations Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, who was centre of attraction and was being congratulated for the successful strikes.
