JAMMU, Dec 6: Terming the PM Kissan Nidhi a boon to farmers BJP UT president and former Minister, Sat Sharma (CA) today said among large number of welfare schemes launched during the last over ten years by the Union Government under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, PM Kissan Samman Nidhi is one which has been devised exclusively for the benefit of the farmers.
While addressing a meeting of prominent activists of the party in village Jaswan of Marh Assembly constituency under Jammu North district, Sat Sharma said that from 2014 onwards the Union Government under Prime minister, Narendra Modi, launched one scheme after the other for socio-economic upliftment of every section of the society. In this series, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme was launched exclusively for providing financial assistance of Rs six thousand in three instalments to the farmers, which has proved to be a big boon for them.
“The objective of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is to provide financial support to small and marginal farmers across the country for agricultural and allied activities; to reduce financial distress among them, particularly during emergencies due to crop loss and to procure seeds, fertilizers, etc”, Sat said, adding that through direct benefit transfer mode the beneficiaries get the amount directly transferred into their accounts, thus plugging loopholes in transactions, with no space for intermediaries.
Sat Sharma further said that the rural areas are getting equal share not only in welfare schemes but also in matters of development, new projects, the villages are being connected through road connectivity, means of communication etc.
He stressed upon the party activists to keep educating people about the good works of Modi Government.
Surinder Bhagat, MLA, Marh, in his address, said that every citizen in his constituency is important for him and would work whole heartedly to come up to their expectations.
