PM inaugurates Phase-II of Baglihar Power Project in Ramban

RAMBAN :  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Baglihar-II Power Project in Chanderkote area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister, during his day-long state visit reached Chanderkote from Kashmir in a helicopter.
He inaugurated 450 MW Baglihar Hydroelectric Project Stage-II executed by Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation Ltd.
Mr Modi also laid foundation of Four Laning of Udhampur-Ramban and Ramban-Banihal Section of National Highway Number 44.
The project is being executed by National Highway Authority of India.
The 450 MW Baglihar Hydro Electric Power Stage-II is the second in the series of Baglihar Projects.
Stage-1 was commissioned in the year 2008.
Stage-II project lies in mountains and rugged terrain of the Middle Himalayas with the relief ranging from 700 metres at the river Chenab bed level to a maximum of 3020 metre.          MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh were also present on the occasion.
