JAMMU, May 7: A monthly meeting of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held under the chairmanship of its working president Deepak Sharma wherein various core issues and problems confronting the Plus2 community were discussed.
Forum alleged discrimination with the newly selected lecturers through JKPSC wherein as per new policy the lecturers will have to serve in Zone III (Hard areas) initially for a period of 5 years on one hand and will be paid only basic and grade pay i.e Rs 14,700 per month only.
Forum said that when no other Gazetted service has been covered under new recruitment policy, why Plus 2 lecturers have been targeted? This is a sheer step motherly treatment with the cadre.
Deepak Sharma said that instead of providing incentives to serve in Zone III, the new recruitees are being penalized by being paid less.
The Forum flayed the Government for disparity in advertisement for recruitment of new lecturers and Medicos (vide notification No 9 PSC (DR-P) of 2016 dated 19-03-2016 and notification No 8 of the same date) wherein newly recruited lecturers were to come under new policy whereas no such condition existed in case of Medical Officers in Health Department.
Deepak Sharma appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene in the matter and order withdrawal/ rollback of this new recruitment policy which is highly objectionable, condemnable and discriminative in nature. He further said that much experimentation has been done with School Education Department by various retrogressive steps taken in the recent past including posting of KAS officers on newly created posts of Joint Directors in School Education Department and hoped that with the takeover by Education Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and his team of new officers, the department would be put back on track and will gain heights.
Speakers also demanded the drawal of salary of surplus lectures working on various grounds like Medical/Security/ Need basis/ Various cells of DSEJ against the post identified, from the institutions where they are rendering their services presently after providing budget to the concerned DDOs.
The meeting was attended by N S Jamwal, Anil Sharma, Dr Shushma, R S Salathia, Charan Dass, Pardeep Singh, Sanjay Bhagat, Jyoti Kumar, Ashok Sharma and Arvind Khajuria.
