JAMMU, Nov 10: A Punjabi poetry collection ‘Boond Banegee Sagar’ written by M S Kaamra, a well known writer and poet of Jammu was released in a function organized by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu at KL Saigal Hall of Cultural Academy, Jammu today.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presided over the book release function whereas Dr Baljit Kour, HoD, Deptt of Punjabi, University of Jammu was the chief guest and Arun Khanna, Corporator was the guest of honour on this occasion.
Dr Monojit Singh, president PLS-Jammu, Dr Baljit Raina, general secretary and Gurmit Kour shared the dais. A large number of intellectuals and writers attended the programme.
The function started with the formal welcome by Dr Monojit. Two papers on the merits and critical evaluation of the poetry of MS Kaamra included in the collection were presented by Rajvir Singh and Harsimran Singh, research scholars of Deptt of Punjabi, University of Jammu.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr Amn complimented Kaamra for making contribution in the field of poetry writing. He said the poetry of Kaamra represents it in the true sense.
Dr Baljit Kour appreciated the poetical work contributed by Kaamra. She also appreciated the contribution of the research scholars for doing research work on the Punjabi writers and poets of Jammu & Kashmir. Arun Khanna, Kaamra Harjit Singh and Pyasa Anjum also expressed their views on this occasion.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Baljeet Raina, general secretary, PLS-J. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Raina.
