This has reference to the article ‘Agony of teachers’ DE July 29.
The author has clearly pointed out the step motherly treatment with the education department due to the application of SRO-202 on the newly recruited gazetted (10+2) lecturers only. Despite being well aware of the importance of giving education a top priority, unfortunately our Government did not pay requisite heed to this department. By giving meager salary to serve in Leh and Kargil areas initially for a probation period of five years is a vicious approach of the Government. If the State Government is facing financial crunch then why the posts of gazetted (10+2) lecturers only are notified under SRO-202 and not the other gazetted posts as notified by JKPSC from time to time.
It is requested to Chief Minister and Education Minister of our state to personally intervene into the matter and provide justice to the newly recruited lecturers by exempting them from draconian SRO-202.

Sir,
The imposition of Kashmiri language in Jammu Division deserves to be condemned. My question to Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon (Commissioner / Secretary Higher Education Department) is if Kashmiri is getting neglected, you are promoting the Kashmiri language. Dogri is also getting neglected. Is Government equally concerned about it !
We are not against Kashmiri language, but a choice should be given to the student whether to choose Kashmiri or Dogri language for his study. The best universities in the world give choice to the students, to choose their subjects as per their wishes. It was a shock to the most of the people of Jammu that their mother tongue is getting neglected. Universities should not be treated for dirty politics as they are temples of higher education.
Jammu, from the past years is getting neglected, but why the people sitting on the decision making process cannot see this? Education always teaches us to be impartial and work for the welfare of the society. It is requested to the Dr. Jitendra Singh, Dr. Karan Singh and other higher authorities to look into this matter very seriously and try to promote the Dogri language.
