Pledge ceremonies organized by edu institutions to mark NMBA’s 5 years completion

JAMMU, Nov 18: As part of the nationwide celebration of 5 years of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), pledge taking ceremonies and awareness programmes were organized today in various educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir.
GGM Science College, Jammu, celebrated the completion of five successful years of the NMBA by organizing an on the college campus. Students, faculty members, and NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically. To mark the occasion, a pledge Cceremony was conducted and all participants took a solemn oath to stay away from harmful substances. A series of awareness lectures and interactive sessions were also held.
MAM College, under the guidance of Principal Prof Archana Kaul conducted a comprehensive online event. Hosted on the NIC Webex platform, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and other stakeholders. The session featured informative awareness talks, preventive strategies, and reflections on the nationwide progress of NMBA. More than 500 students pledged their support to a drug-free India through pledge ceremony.
PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar (Jammu) conducted both online and offline pledge-taking activities in collaboration with VBYCP of Cluster university of Jammu. The College also hosted an offline pledge-taking ceremony in the Smart Classroom. Students actively participated, reaffirming their commitment to promoting a drug-free society.
Government Degree College (GDC) Kunjwani organized a hybrid pledge ceremony which saw enthusiastic participation from 80 students, faculty, and staff, who joined both online and offline to reaffirm their commitment to a drug-free society. The ceremony was held under the guidance of Principal, Dr Manisha Sarup Kohli, who inaugurated the event with an inspiring address.
The pledge-taking ceremony, both online and offline, was also organized at GDC Ramgarh, under the guidance of the Principal, Prof (Dr) Meeru Abrol. Faculty members, staff, and students collectively took the Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge, affirming their commitment to, stay away from drugs and intoxicating substances.
Government Polytechnic Reasi organized various activities under the supervision of Principal Arun Bangotra, and in collaboration with Social Welfare Department Reasi, to raise awareness about the adverse effects of substance abuse. The activities included essay writing competition, slogan writing competition, rangoli competition, anti-drug awareness rally and online/offline pledge.
GDC R S Pura today organized pledge ceremony under the guidance of the Principal Prof (Dr) Preetpal Kour. The students, faculty, and staff of the College assembled to take Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge to abstain from drugs, promote healthy lifestyles, and actively create awareness within their communities.
As part of the observance of the completion of five impactful years of NMBA, staff and students of GDC Vijaypur reaffirmed their commitment to creating a drug-free society while taking an online pledge against substance abuse. The college also organized an offline pledge ceremony on campus, enabling wider participation.
GDC Khour organized a NMBA pledge ceremony under the guidance of Principal Prof (Dr) T K Sharma. Over 90 participants including NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, teachers and non-teaching staff of the College took a solemn oath to stay away from drugs and help others to do the same.
An awareness programme on Webex was organized by GDC Thannamandi under the patronage of Principal Dr Farooq Ahmad. The pledge was administered at Guru Nanak Dev University, and the faculty and students of GDC Thannamandi joined the session virtually.
GDC Marheen, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Office, Tehsil Hiranagar, organized an awareness lecture under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The program was conducted under the guidance of the Principal Prof (Dr) Anupama Gupta. Social Welfare Officer Manjeet Singh addressed the students on the harmful effects of drug addiction emphasizing preventive measures.
Government Degree College for Women, Kathua organized a mass pledge ceremony to promote awareness on drug abuse prevention. The College Principal Dr Savi Behl presided over the programme and encouraged students to adopt a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle. A large number of students took the anti-drug pledge.
