Plea to Education Minister

Sir,
I would like to draw the kind attention of the Minister for Education of our state towards various problems which cause hurdles in normal functioning of government schools. A large number of schools are suffering due to acute shortage of teaching staff while there are a large number of schools which have complete teaching staff as per the sanctioned posts but less enrolment. For example, there are a large number of primary schools with 2-3 teachers having enrolment below 10 ; and upper-primary (Middle) schools with 5-7 teachers having enrolment below 20. There are some upper-primary schools where enrolment is touching 50 but are running with just 3-4 teachers. It is very difficult to teach 8 classes in a school with 3-4 teachers as there are 41 subjects in total from 1st to 8th classes i.e. each teacher has to teach average 10 subjects in addition to maintaining routine official work  and Mid-Day-Meals. The situation becomes worse when out of these 3-4 teachers, one of them (female teacher) goes on maternity leave (6-months) or child-care (female teacher) leave and thus creating  more burden on rest of the teachers. If one of these teachers is assigned the duties of BLO or census work then what would be the fate of these schools, every one of us can understand. It is therefore,  requested  to provide complete staff as per the need on the very first day of the beginning of new academic session and ensure its availability throughout the session. Further, if a female teacher goes on maternity or child care leave, there should be a provision of alternate teacher before former goes for leave so that studies of the students may not suffer. I hope, the Minister will consider the matter seriously and take necessary steps at the earliest for the welfare of poor children reading in our schools.
Yours etc…..
