JAMMU, Aug 26: Panun Kashmir (PK) and its youth wing, Panun Kashmir Yuva, have launched a door-to-door campaign in the displaced Kashmiri Hindu community, reiterating their resolve to carry forward the struggle for a separate homeland within Kashmir.
As per a statement, the campaign is being organised as a run-up to Martyrs’ Day remembrance on September 14.
It said the programme aims to connect families with the legacy of sacrifice, mobilise participation, and reaffirm the pledge of resilience and return.
As part of the campaign, activists of PK and PK Yuva are visiting households across Jammu, spreading the message of remembrance and resistance.
“Every knock on a door carries the whispers of our ancestors; every conversation revives the voices of our martyrs. This campaign is not merely an outreach, it is a pilgrimage of memory,” Kuldeep Raina, General Secretary of the Panun Kashmir said.
The Organising Secretary of the organisation, Behari Lal Kaul said, “The campaign recalls the centuries of struggle, the exodus of 1989-90, and continuing targeted killings, reminding people that Martyrs’ Day is not only a ritual but also a covenant with history.
PK Yuva leaders, including Dr Archana Pandita and Sunita Bhat stressed that the initiative is meant to strengthen unity in the community, revive historical memory, and inspire the younger generation to take forward the cause.
They said the main remembrance programme will be held at Manhas Sabha, Jammu, on September 14 at 10:30 AM, where the community will light the Mashaal of eternal memory.
