JAMMU, May 4: Dr. Ajay Chrungoo Chairman Panun Kashmir today said struggle of Panun Kashmir for justice, dignity and homeland has always drawn strength from the indomitable spirit of community women.
He was addressing various meetings in different places of Jammu along with organising secretary of the organisation Bihari Lal Koul.
The focus of the meetings is to energize grassroots participation ahead of the forthcoming protest rally. A resounding appeal was made for the active involvement of women and youth, not just as participants, but as leaders of this historic demonstration.
Dr Chrungoo said “From the days of forced exile to the relentless fight for recognition as victims of genocide, our women have stood tall, as organizers, educators, caregivers, and warriors of truth.”
Behari Lal Kaul reaffirmed this sentiment, stating, “The rally must reflect the soul of our community and that soul has always been shaped by the resilience of our women. Today, we urge the mothers, daughters, and sisters of our community to once again take the lead, just as they did during the darkest nights of our displacement.”
Panun Kashmir emphasized that women have historically been the conscience-keepers of the community. Whether in refugee camps, public platforms, or courtrooms, they have borne the burden of survival and carried forward the flame of identity. The May 11 rally, therefore, is not just a political gathering, it is a continuation of a civilizational assertion led from the frontlines by the women of the community.
The meetings also saw enthusiastic participation from youth leaders and students who pledged full support for the upcoming rally. Many emphasized that the legacy of resistance and vision inherited from their mothers and grandmothers propels them to stand strong today.
PK reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the Margdarshan Resolution and reiterated that any resolution to the Kashmir issue must begin with justice for the victims of genocide by carving out Panun Kashmir on the territory of the Valley, and establishing a separate administrative structure for Jammu. The organization strongly advocated for further Constitutional reorganization of the erstwhile State to ensure justice, security and permanent rehabilitation.
