JAMMU, July 15: A public lecture was organised on the contribution of Pt Prem Nath Shastri a doyen of Kashmiri culture at Radio Sharda , Muthi today.
The function was jointly organised by Pir Panchal and Jyotshi Karyalya Gole Gujral in which the contribution of legendary scholar was highlighted.
Addressing the gathering Ramesh Hangloo president, Pir Panchal stressed on protecting the religious monuments which are pillars of the rich and age old culture of Kashmir.
He highlighted that Pir Panchal continues to play its vital role in promotion of pilgrimage tourism and cultural awareness in the UT of J&K and in this regard programmes are being held from time to time in different parts of J&K especially remote and far-flung areas.
On the occasion Avtar Jyotshi representative of Jyotshi Karyalya Gole Gujral announced that the annual calendar for 2026 being published jointly by two organisations will be something unique this year which will be aimed at promoting spiritual and cultural heritage.
He also announced that this year the special function will be held in connection with 26th Nirwan Diwas of Shastri Ji.
Speaking on the occasion, Bushan Lal Koul president Shiv Mandir highlighted the role of Late Shastri Ji whom he termed a thinker ahead of his time.
