KATRA, June 22: A Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrim from Maharashtra died of heart attack at the Bhawan, here today.
The deceased was identified as Ravinder Shalik Patel (33), son of Shalik Rattan Patel of village Bambrund, Taluka Bhadgaon, district Jalgaon, Maharashtra. He suffered a massive heart attack near Gate number 3 at the Bhawan when he was waiting for his turn to pay obeisance at the cave shrine. He was rushed to nearby dispensary where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist and his pillion rider were injured when their bike skidded off the road near Hanuman Mandir, Katra. The injured were identified as Rajan Sharma (30), son of Rattan Lal of Hansalli Katra and Abdul Majid (60), son of Gulam Mohd Malik of Sushwa Gool.
They were on the way to Chintamani from Bus Stand Katra when the bike, bearing registration number JK14A-5576 met with accident. The injured were shifted to CHC Katra and later referred to GMC Hospital Jammu.
