JAMMU, Mar 22: As part of a five-day media tour organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), a 12-member delegation of journalists from Jammu arrived in Lucknow, here today.
The delegation was warmly received by the PIB Lucknow team upon arrival.
The tour is being led by Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer (FPO), Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), serving as the Conducting Officer, with assistance from Vikram Uppal, Field Publicity Assistant (FPA).
The delegation comprises Bureau Chiefs, Editors, Correspondents and Camerapersons from ten Jammu-based news organisations.
The initiative aims to provide regional media professionals with first-hand exposure to the country’s developmental landscape and an opportunity to witness the impact of various public welfare schemes at the grassroots level.
During the five-day tour, the team will visit key institutions and establishments including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Railway Design and Safety Organization (RDSO) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The visits are intended to help participants understand the functioning of these organisations and gain insights into ongoing projects and initiatives.
In addition, the delegation will interact with progressive farmers and artisans associated with the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative and experience the rich composite culture of the region.
Earlier, in a pre-departure briefing, Conducting Officer Shahid Lone outlined the objectives of the tour and shared a message from Neha Jalali, Director, PIB Jammu.
In her message, she described the visit as a valuable opportunity for media professionals to gain deeper insights into the vision of “Viksit Bharat” and the implementation of key government programmes.
She urged the participants to make the most of the tour by closely observing the developmental processes and understanding the functioning of institutions driving public welfare initiatives across the country.
