BANI, June 20: On the 11th International Yoga Day, a two day photo exhibition organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Govt of India, Field Office Jammu, was held here today.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Sandeep Sharma SDM Bani at Government Higher Secondary School, Bani.
The event witnessed a vibrant celebration of health and wellness with enthusiastic participation from a large number of students, civil society members and representatives from the ICDS and Agriculture Department.
The exhibition showcased the significance of yoga in promoting holistic well-being and sustainable living.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Sharma, in-charge CBC Jammu/Samba/Kathua threw light on various activities undertaken by Central Bureau of Communication J&K region.
He said, “This year’s theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” highlights Yoga’s dual role in fostering individual and social wellbeing.”
Sharma recalled the virtual celebrations during the pandemic which highlighted the importance of yoga in physical and mental health.
In the presidential address, Sandeep Sharma said, “Yoga means unison of the body and mind. It enhances our lives to develop a positive and healthy lifestyle. It is especially beneficial for students if it is practiced regularly.”
A cultural performance of folk songs and dances was presented by the artists of Nav Usha NGO Samba.
A painting competition and seminar was also held among the school students under the able guidance of principal GHSS Bani Manoj Kumar Anand.
