PHE WWA projects demands of workers

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 7: PHE Workers Welfare Association (PHEWWA) has urged upon the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control  Sham  Choudhary to address the issues of the PHE employees.
Talking to media-persons here today, provincial president Bakshi Singh and general secretary, Subash Verma  said that two major demands of the PHE workers were submitted before the Minister about two months back but no action has been taken in this regard so far. They demanded early conduct of DPC of all cadre and regularize daily wagers by framing definite policy for them.  They also demanded wages for over time duty performed by the workers during the strike period of daily wagers.
They also alleged that many daily wagers who were on strike for 85 days were mostly misguided  and misled by some union leaders. They failed to achieve their target  as no policy was announced by the Government even after two months.  After long strike, the workers failed to achieve the desired results. Senior Association members, Swarn Singh and Rattan Doshi were also accompanying the president.
