JAMMU, Feb 16: PHE workers have resolved to go on agitation if the Government failed to address their pending demands with in a week.
In a meeting of the PHE Workers Welfare Association (Jammu province) held under the chairmanship of Subhash Verma general secretary, the Association strongly criticized the higher authorities for not solving the pending issues of the PHE workers. Mr Verma expressed serious concern over the non-payment of the wages to daily rated/ need base and CP workers for the last 25 months. He alleged that Government has failed to regularize these workers despite assurances.
The Association has further stressed upon the Chief Engineer PHE Jammu for holding the DPC of all cadre so that stagnation in the department is removed. It urged upon the State Governor N N Vohra to release the wages of the poor PHE workers without any delay and take a decision about their fate with regard to their regularization.
They warned the Government to resolve their issue within week otherwise they would start agitation and hold protest demonstration at PHE complex BC Road on February 23. Senior trade unionists, Rattan Doshi, Manzoor Ali, Swarn Singh, Surjit Singh, Baldev Singh, Ram Parkash, Anil Verma and others were also present.
