PHE workers resume hunger strike

KATHUA, July 8: The PHE daily wagers who were on hunger strike earlier and had suspended it on the assurances of PHE Department authorities that their pending demands will be solved resumed the fast unto death in support of their demands today.
The Four members’ team of PHE daily wagers again started the hunger strike after being fed up with fake promises made by Departmental authorities regarding release of their pending wages of five years besides regularization of their services.
The district president of the Daily Wagers Union, Shiv Narayan Singh criticized the attitude of State Government and PHE Department for giving step motherly treatment towards these poor workers who are living hand to mouth after their wages have not been released for a long time now. He said that they will continue the fast unto death till the fulfillment of their genuine demands for which they are fighting since last one year.
