JAMMU, Aug 31: The daily rated, consolidated and CP workers of PHE Department have gone on 48- hour strike in support of their demands today.
With the ‘Kam Chhor Hartal’ of the workers, the water supply to Jammu and many districts would be affected for two days. These employees alleged that Government and higher authorities in the department have failed to address their issues despite the fact that several memoranda were submitted to the authorities. Even the workers and employees are protesting for the last several weeks. Neither the minister concerned nor the Chief Engineer has shown any interest in resolving issues. Compelled by the circumstances they have been forced to go on strike.
Meanwhile, PHE Department Drivers/ Cleaners Union Jammu province led by Kartar Chand Dubey and State Government Employees Joint Action Committee (SGEJAC) members, Suresh Sharma, Sushil Soodan and others have supported PHE workers strike.
