SRINAGAR, Apr 28: All Jammu and Kashmir Government Pharmacist Association (JKGPA), Health Department, today demanded strict punishment to those, who were found involved in fake drug supply and also demanded installation of modern testing laboratory to check growing menace of spurious drugs in the State.
In a statement, the president of the association, Mehraj-ud-Din, said that there is only one testing laboratory at present that too defunct in the entire State which is checking the efficacy of drugs.
“Considering the huge number of drugs supplied here from other states, it is not possible to check their efficacy in a single laboratory. The State needs more number of Labs and modern Laboratory to check the efficacy of drugs,” he said.
The association said that a few advertisements were published in local dailies on April 25 to malign the image of Health Department and shield the real culprits.
