Pharmacists’ Association highlights demands

JAMMU, Mar 3: All Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacists’ Association (JKGPA) today reiterated its demands and highlighted various problems being faced by the pharmacist in the State.
Addressing a press conference, Sushil Sudan, State president, JKGPA, along with Jarnail Choudhary, working president, Jammu province, Sheikh Mirazudin, president, Kashmir Division and Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, district president, Jammu, briefed the media persons about various problems faced by the pharmacists in J&K.
He said they in the form of a delegation also met with Secretary to Government Health & Medical Education Department, Dr MK Bhandari and putforth their problems, which were given a patient hearing by him and he assured us that all our genuine demands were looked into and considered at the earliest.
Sudan said that the major demands discussed with Bhandari were up gradation of Junior Pharmacist to other re-organized levels and its revision after five years, Hospital/ Mobile Units and others for smooth functioning of the Health institutions, running grades in favour of pharmacists after every five years, up gradation of Pharmacists to the post of Block Pharmacy Officer (at SDH Level/ Block Level) and District Pharmacy Officer (at CMOS Offices Level) and Provincial Level as well.
“The demands like reconstitution of Pharmacy Council with inclusion of two members (one from each division from the Government Pharmacist category), grant of RMP during service, creation of posts of Sup Pharmacists at NTPHCs so that the institution can be run round the clock, placement of the trained pharmacists who have completed their ECG/Operation Theatre/Anesthesia Trainings from different institutions, amendment of SRO-20 or issuance of Government Executive Order as per the subject matter of recruitment/promotion to various categories of posts in GMC Jammu/Srinagar, were also taken up with the Secretary.
Sudan said that they also took up other demands like conducting of DPC of pharmacist cadre of Kashmir division on priority basis, stoppage of transfers of pharmacists of district Kupwara till all the grievances are redressed and release the salary of whole category as soon as possible.
