Jammu, Nov 14: Two days after being severely attacked by some persons, a junior pharmacist succumbed to injuries at a hospital on Friday.
Official said that the pharmacist in health Department namely Shabir Ahmad Choudhary resident of Dharna Mendhar was attacked by some unknown persons on way to duty to Sub Center Chattri, on November 12.
Choudhary was shifted to sub district hospital Mendhar and later to GMC Rajouri, where from he was referred to GMC Jammu, the officials said.
BMO Mendhar Dr Ashfaq Choudhary told GNS that Shabir Ahmad Choudhary had suffered multiple fractures besides severe lung and liver injuries. He said that Shabir succumbed to the injuries today.
Meanwhile, police have already registered an FIR and are carrying out investigation into the incident.
A police official told GNS that some leads have been established and already few suspects have been detained in this regard.(GNS)
