Srinagar, Aug 21: A petrol pump that was earlier caught violating the norms by over-charging on diesel in Challa Boniyar area in North Kashmir has been penalized by the Legal Metrology Department, Baramulla.
As per officials, soon after the complaint was received, the concerned officials visited the spot and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000/- on the owner of the petrol pump for violating rules and regulations.
Earlier, on the complaints of the locals, it was reported by Excelsior that Zum Zum Filling Station in Challa Boniyar in Uri was looting people by resorting to overcharging.
The officials in the district have stated that stern action will be taken against such violations and appealed to the public to bring such violations swiftly to the notice of the district administration.
