People seek compensation for Gandoh-Jayee road

BHADERWAH, June 28: Residents of remote Bhalessa area of Bhaderwah additional district, have demanded release of compensation for the land acquired by the R&B authorities for the construction of Gandoh-Jayee road in district Doda.
In an appeal to the Deputy Commissioner, Doda and the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, a renowned social activist from Bhalessa area, Thakur Tara Singh Bhall, sought their urgent intervention into the much delayed matter. He claimed that road compensation of about a score of farmers who gave their fertile land and apple orchards for the construction of this road during 2007-08, are still waiting for the compensation.
He pointed out that as per the claim of PW(R&B) authorities at Special Sub Division Gandoh, compensation amount worth more than Rs 2 crores is lying with the SDM Gandoh but the money is not being disbursed among the farmers whose lands have been acquired for the road project, making direct road link between Bhaderwah and Gandoh through Jayee and Rajpura. He said despite clear court directions, the authorities are still unmoved.
Residents of villages- Angnol, Drai, Chonwari, Ludoo and Rajpura whose files are lying in the office of Tehsildar/SDM Gandoh have sought intervention of Lt Governor Sinha, Union Minister in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh and Deputy Commissioner Doda to release their pending compensation for the land acquired for the said 32 kms road project.
